About Us
NAPS, a non-profit organization, believes in empowering individuals to use their talents to make a positive impact in the world.
Our Mission
The National Association for the Prevention of Starvation (NAPS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer, relief organization primarily comprised of college students and graduates from around the world, whom God has blessed to travel nationally and internationally to places such as Zimbabwe, Costa Rica, Sudan, Madagascar, Haiti, and many other countries conducting medical relief, children’s programs, and evangelism.
Nationally, we have responded to disasters such as the California fires, various hurricanes like Katrina, Harvey, and Gustave, the unfortunate Sandy Hook shooting, Oklahoma tornadoes, and has received awards from FEMA, NASA, city and state governments, and even at the United Nations for nearly 40 years of global service for humanity.
NAPS is a member of Adventist-laymen's Services & Industries (ASI) and in recent years has expanded its ministry to include NAPS Abundant Life Academy (NALA), a weekly Pre-K to 8th grade boarding school whose inspiration was gained from the book Education by Ellen White, the NAPS - Abundant Life Wellness Institute (ALWI), a lifestyle centered designed to help those struggling with common lifestyle issues and to improve their quality of life through exercise, nutrition, hydrotherapy, massage, and other methods and the Global Evangelism and Medical Missionary School (GEMMS) a 12-month Gap Year Program, where individuals are trained in effective medical missionary methods.
